A Golden Opportunity

Not everyone has been lost in the economic tumble of the past year. Julie Stallman started her job as a gold-buyer last October with Golden Girls, a company that visits parties to buy up attendees' gold, reminiscent of Tupperware parties of years past. Party guests come with all kinds of reasons for selling their jewelry - the car needs new tires, this necklace will never be back in style, my ex-husband gave me this ring. The gold party business has taken off, affording people a chance to clean out their jewelry boxes and walk away with a little extra cash, all over a drink and cheese cubes.
